Lattice Semiconductor has announced the appointment of Steve Douglass as its vice president of research and development. Mr. Douglass has successfully formed and led a number of high-performance, customer-facing global engineering teams to create industry-leading IC products and solutions. His extraordinary achievements in corporate strategy development and execution have promoted customer innovation and created outstanding performance for the company. Prior to joining Lattice, Mr. Douglass served as Vice President of Xilinx's Customer Technology Deployment division.
Steve Douglass has more than 30 years of experience in programmable solution development in the areas of wired and wireless communications, industrial, automotive, test and measurement. He has held senior management positions at Xilinx for 20 years, most recently as Vice President of Customer Technology Deployment, and has led the global technology sales and support team since 2012. Prior to that, he served as Vice President and General Manager of the Advanced Products Division and Vice President of Product Development. Mr. Douglass has held various leadership positions at Cypress Semiconductor for 13 years, including Director of CPLD and FPGA Business Units. He began his career as a circuit design engineer at Intel Corporation. He has received 23 US and global FPGA and PLD architecture and circuit patents and has received numerous industry awards, including EDN annual product and annual Innovator Award. He holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University. He also serves on the Electrical Engineering Industry Advisory Board at Santa Clara University.
