Nordic Semiconductor recently announced that it has signed a new distribution agreement with Özdisan Elektronik, an Istanbul, Turkey-based components distributor specializing in electronics hardware and software design, and RF technical support for Internet of Things (IoT) solution developers. The deal covers distribution and design support for Nordic’s entire portfolio of low power cellular IoT and low power short range wireless solutions.
According to the distribution agreement, Özdisan will supply Nordic’s complete portfolio of short range wireless and low power cellular IoT connectivity hardware, firmware, development tools, and reference designs, including the nRF9160 low power SiP with integrated LTE-M/NB-IoT modem and GPS, the nRF5340 System-on-Chip (SoC)—the world’s first dual Arm Cortex-M33 processor wireless SoC—as well as the nRF52833 SoC, a fully-featured short range wireless solution that supports Bluetooth 5.1 Direction Finding.
“The Nordic Semiconductor brand is very popular and well known around the world, with user friendly solutions backed by a powerful technical support team,” says Sena Yilmaz, Supply Chain Manager, Özdisan Elektronik. “In Turkey the most important thing is technical support, and that is why Özdisan has dedicated R&D and FAE teams, and all of our engineers are familiar with RF design. We are well positioned to provide our customers with design support for the entire range of Nordic solutions.”
“There is a lot of potential in Turkey across industrial, consumer, smart home, and medical markets in particular, and we see the obvious advantages of having a local distributor serving local businesses,” says Patrick Noordhoek, Regional Sales Manager – Turkey, Nordic Semiconductor. “Özdisan is a solid, well connected firm, and has a strong presence across Turkey. The company knows the market, and has a good knowledge of IoT systems. We see it as a good fit for Nordic’s plans in the region.”
