Supply chain: Yageo raises the price of passive components

June 1, 2021

According to supply chain, Yageo has recently notified customers that its chip resistors and tantalum capacitors will increase in price by 1%, and MLCC will increase by about 1% to 3%. The new prices will take effect on June 1.

According to industry sources, since the second half of last year, the price of semiconductors has risen rapidly as demand and costs have risen at the same time. Although the price of passive components has risen, it is fairly stable in comparison. However, from a cost perspective, copper prices, ceramic substrates, transportation and labor costs have all increased. Yageo raised prices again in response to rising costs.

Yageo did not comment on the price. However, it said that the costs of raw materials, transportation and labor have continued to increase, and will consider sharing the rising costs with customers.
